Jehangir Mahal, the greatest piece of architecture
was built by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo to commemorate the visit
of the fourth Mughal Emperor Jehangir. Jehangir visited the
place in 1606.
Raj Mahal is another landmark. The palace was constructed by
deeply religious Madhukar Shah, who succeeded Bir Singh Ju Deo.
Remarkable for its plain exteriors which are adorned with chhatries.
The interiors are embellished with superb murals, and depict
scenes from religious scriptures.
Rai Parveen Mahal was built by King Indramani for his singer-courtesan
favorite Rai Parveen. Rai Parveen was sent to Delhi on the orders
of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Her courage and brilliance impressed
the emperor and he was very ashamed. He sent her back to Orchha
once again. Raja Ram Temple, Chaturbhuj temple and Laxmi Temple
are some of the important places of attraction.
